My Birthday 2015

I had such a mighty fine birthday weekend that I thought I would make note of it here.... to get me through the years when my birthday isn't so good.

The actual birthdate was Saturday but the good times started on Friday. I went to The Scottsdale Center For The Arts to see a modern dance troupe, Momix. I have seen them before- very inovative, lots of props, interesting costumes, etc.  The performance was that night and the tickets were expensive, even for bad seats. But I discovered there was a morning matinee that day and got great tickets for that! I was the first person in the theater and had the best seat in the house.

After the performance I got my hair cut, then stopped by a shop and found a good handbag for  winter. Then I came home to make a cake for my party. It was easy to do since the mousse was already finished. There were four or five layers of chocolate mousse separated by vanilla wafers. In the evening we went tango dancing at Fat Cat Ballroom.

Saturday- I cooked and cleaned to get ready for the party. Guests arrived at 6- There were 13 of us-
It was a fabulous menu and delicious food.
There were two kinds of cocktail cookies- almond and rosemary/ Parmesan
zucchini chips
mushroom pate

What a great party- terrific food, good friends, our in our nice yard.
Sunday- we went to the humanists talk on the Aurora Borealis, then out for dim sum. Then, of course, we went out to our usual Sunday dance. Later we had yummy leftovers for dinner.
